Copper corrugated plate packing
Copper Corrugated-plate packing
Copper Corrugated-plate packing is constructed in modules. The vertical blades of the packing are fixed in position with welded cross members. During installation of either style, each successive layer of the grid packing is rotated 45 degrees to the previous layer. This specific orientation eliminates horizontal planes where liquid and/or solids can collect. The Style 3 packing has a greater projected area perpendicular to the gas flow causing higher localized vapor velocities, effectively providing higher efficiencies.

Feature of copper corrugated plate packing
Corrugated plate packing, also known as structured packing, is used in a wide range of industrial applications where efficient mass transfer and separation are required. Here are some of the common applications of corrugated plate packing:
Distillation Columns:
Corrugated plate packing is widely used as the packing material in distillation columns, which are essential in chemical, petrochemical, and refining industries.
The high surface area and efficient mass transfer characteristics of the packing enhance the separation and purification of various components, such as hydrocarbons, alcohols, and other chemicals.
Absorption and Desorption Processes:
Corrugated plate packing is employed in absorption and desorption towers, where it facilitates the transfer of a component from one phase to another.
This includes applications such as gas sweetening (removal of acid gases like CO2 and H2S from natural gas), flue gas treatment (removal of pollutants from industrial exhaust), and solvent recovery processes.
Fractionation Columns:
Corrugated plate packing is used in fractionation columns, which are commonly found in refineries and petrochemical plants.
These columns separate complex hydrocarbon mixtures into individual components, such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel, through efficient mass transfer and separation.
Reactive Distillation:
Corrugated plate packing can be used in reactive distillation columns, where chemical reactions and separation occur simultaneously.
This application is found in the production of various chemicals, such as esters, ethers, and organic acids, where the packing enhances the reaction and separation efficiency.
Drying and Evaporation Processes:
Corrugated plate packing is employed in drying and evaporation equipment, such as those used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries.
The high surface area and effective mass transfer provided by the packing facilitate the efficient drying or evaporation of the target materials.
Gas-Liquid Contacting:
Corrugated plate packing is used in gas-liquid contacting processes, where it enhances the interaction and mass transfer between the gaseous and liquid phases.
Examples include gas absorption, gas desorption, and gas-liquid reactions, as found in industries like chemical manufacturing and environmental pollution control.
