What You Can Discuss with AYRTTER at KIOGE 2026
Tower packing and internals should not be selected only by product name, size, or unit price. The better starting point is the actual process conditions.
At KIOGE 2026, you can discuss requirements related to distillation, absorption, stripping, gas treatment, separation, petrochemical processing, and other gas-liquid mass transfer applications.
Random Packing
AYRTTER supplies metal, plastic, and ceramic random packing for different process conditions and operating environments.
- If corrosion resistance is the main concern → evaluate plastic or ceramic packing according to chemical compatibility and operating temperature.
- If higher temperature or mechanical strength is required → metal packing may be a more suitable starting point.
- If fouling or solids are present → open area and resistance to blockage may matter more than simply choosing the highest specific surface area.
- If pressure drop is critical → packing size, geometry, gas velocity, liquid load, and packing height should be reviewed together.

Structured Packing
Structured packing is commonly considered when efficient gas-liquid contact and relatively low pressure drop are important.
However, higher specific surface area does not automatically mean better column performance. Gas load, liquid load, packing height, operating pressure, fouling tendency, and liquid distribution also matter.
If your existing column has excessive pressure drop → review the packing and tower internals together rather than replacing one component in isolation.
If separation efficiency is lower than expected → do not automatically switch to packing with a higher surface area. Liquid distribution, operating load, wetting, and available bed height should also be checked.
Tower Internals
Good packing cannot compensate for poor liquid distribution. A packed tower should be treated as a complete system.

Practical point: Do not evaluate the packing independently from the distributor and supporting internals. Poor liquid distribution can reduce the performance of an otherwise suitable packing bed.
Demisters
A demister is used to reduce entrained liquid droplets carried by a gas stream, but selection should not be based on vessel diameter alone.
Useful information includes vessel diameter, gas flow rate, operating pressure, operating temperature, gas density, liquid density, process medium, liquid loading, material requirement, and available installation space.
If you only provide the vessel diameter → a supplier may be able to quote a physical product.
If you provide operating conditions → the discussion can begin to determine whether the demister is actually suitable for the process.
Valve Trays
Valve trays are used in many distillation, absorption, stripping, and other gas-liquid contacting applications.
If you are replacing an existing tray → bring the current tray drawing whenever possible.
If you are designing a new column → start with process conditions before finalizing the tray configuration.
What Should You Bring to Hall 8-372?
If you already have an active project, bring the information you already have:
- Column or vessel diameter
- Gas and liquid flow rates
- Operating pressure and temperature
- Process medium
- Existing packing or internals
- Material requirements
- Existing drawings
- Current operating problems
A drawing, photograph, specification sheet, or old equipment document is usually more useful than an enquiry that simply says: “Please quote tower packing.”
Common Mistakes When Sourcing Tower Packing and Internals
Choosing Only by Unit Price
A lower purchase price does not necessarily mean a lower total cost. Pressure drop, service life, shutdown time, replacement frequency, installation requirements, and process performance also matter.
Selecting Material Too Early
Stainless steel, plastic, ceramic, and other materials are not interchangeable. Process medium, corrosion conditions, operating temperature, and mechanical requirements should be checked first.
Comparing Only Specific Surface Area
Higher specific surface area does not automatically mean better performance. Capacity, pressure drop, fouling behavior, wetting, and liquid distribution should also be considered.
Ignoring the Liquid Distributor
Replacing packing while keeping a poorly performing distributor may leave the original operating problem unresolved.
